Therapy for Military Spouses

Let’s be honest.

Even though military spouses are some of the most adaptable and resilient people on the planet, the constant state of change can take a toll on anyone.

The worry for your spouse’s safety, the challenges with childcare, the never-ending list of things to do as a solo parent, uncertain deployment dates, and frequent moves can be overwhelming.

The constant stress can cause you to feel exhausted, aimless, resentful, and alone.

Military families make extraordinary sacrifices, and “thank you for your service” doesn’t seem enough when your life has been turned upside down.

Not everyone understands what it’s like to have your whole life focused on the mission.

Maybe you are new to the military lifestyle. Or perhaps you have known how to navigate this challenging lifestyle for years. But something is different. Maybe it is the emptiness. Perhaps it is fatigue. You might be feeling a bit lost after this last PCS.

Moving to a new location and giving up your routines, familiar places, and friends can be challenging to say the least. You don’t have words to explain all the emotions you are feeling. Your spouse and children depend on you, but you know you cannot give them what they need right now.

You don’t have to do it alone.

A support person who understands these challenges and is competent in military culture is essential.

As a licensed clinical social worker in California and Hawaii, I specialize in supporting military families and veterans. As the spouse of an active-duty service member, I understand the realities of what you are facing day in and day out. My experiences as a military spouse span 18 years, including remote overseas duty stations in the Middle East and Japan.

I know the pressure not to speak out about what’s happening under the surface. On the outside, a military family can be a pillar of strength, loyalty, and patriotism. On the inside, there can be pain, uncertainty, and loss from the demands of military life. I’m here to walk beside you and be someone you can share anything with. I want to help you discover how to thrive and feel alive! Grieving the difficult dynamics in life can help you move forward and enjoy life again.

I am an advocate for career-minded military spouses. I am familiar with the obstacles that keep military spouses from building and maintaining a career while supporting active-duty military assignments. Many spouses put their careers on hold or face roadblocks when obtaining professional licensure. Once they decide to re-enter the workforce, there can be another set of challenges.

I want you to know that your dreams matter, too. Together, we can create a path to a beautiful and fulfilling life.

Therapy for Military Spouses can:

  • Give you a space that is confidential and nonjudgmental
  • Help you process all the emotions that go with military life
  • Guide you to navigate the challenges you are facing
  • Celebrate all the things you already do that are AMAZING
  • Create a life that you love

No more suffering in silence.

It’s time to speak up and see things change.
