Please know that this number is only answered from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

You are welcome to leave a message. However, please do not leave any specific personal details.

I try my best to return all calls within 24 hours.

Current clients can reach out via their secure portal using the messaging functions.

Please note that I am seeing clients throughout the day, so I may not be able to get back to you until the next business day.

If you are a current client, email me directly at info@throughthekaleidoscopewellness.com.

I return all emails within 24 hours of receiving them.

What are your hours?

I see clients from 8:30 am – 2:00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 8:30 am – 12:30 pm.

I am currently not accepting any evening or weekend clients.

How much do you charge?
My fee is $165 per 50-minute session.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, and Diners Club.
How do I set up an initial appointment?

To set up an initial appointment, you can complete the contact form.

I offer a complimentary 20-minute consultation to each client to ensure we are a good therapeutic fit.

You can schedule your consultation here. If you do not see a time that works for you, please fill out the contact form, and I will reach out to you.

Please allow two business days for me to reply to your request.

What is your cancellation policy:

I get it. Things come up – work, kids, illness. Please contact me as soon as possible. You can text me, call me, or use the secure portal to let me know that you cannot make your appointment.

Cancellations and rescheduled sessions will be subject to a full charge if NOT RECEIVED AT LEAST 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE.

This is necessary because a time commitment is made to you, and this time is held exclusively for you.

If you are late for a session, you may lose some session time.

Appointments canceled less than 24 hours before the appointment or in which the client does not show up will result in a $100.00 fee, which will be charged to the credit card on file after the first 15 minutes of the scheduled appointment. After 15 minutes, the session will be considered a no-show.

There will be a $25 fee for rescheduling an appointment in the same week.

Three continuous missed appointments, cancellations, or no-shows will terminate our professional relationship.

Do you take insurance?

In-network:

I am in-network with Aetna and Optum at this time.

I am a member of Alma, a company that partners with select insurance companies to make insurance billing seamless.

If you would like to use insurance, please complete a consultation request.

Alma will notify you with information regarding your co-pay amount, if any, and will determine your eligibility before your first visit and process your insurance billing.

This is a service that I maintain to offer simplicity for my clients and myself. There is no added fee for this service.

Out-of-network:

I am considered out-of-network for all other insurance carriers.

You may be able to receive reimbursement, dependent on your insurance plan.

I encourage you to contact your insurance company to inquire if your plan covers out-of-network mental health coverage.

It is helpful to ask if you have a deductible and inquire about the maximum allowed reimbursement for psychotherapy.

You will be responsible for all payments before service and can request a “superbill” at the end of our session, which allows you to submit your bill for possible reimbursement.

What age ranges do you work with?
I work with individuals over the age of 18.
Do you work with men, women, or couples?

I specialize in individual therapy.

My practice is focused on the individual. Your time is about you.

Sorry couples, I do not offer couples therapy.

What do you actually do in sessions with clients?

I create a space in which you feel supported and comfortable.

A great deal of session time is spent on understanding your current situation and unraveling the reason for your symptoms. This includes mindfulness, discussing self-care, identifying thinking patterns, and reframing negative thoughts.

What modalities do you use with your clients?

I am certified in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and ACT.

I will be adding EMDR in the Fall soon.

What is your professional training and experience?

My background is rooted in Gerontology, which is the study of aging.

I received my Undergrad in Gerontology.

I received my master’s in Science in Gerontology at the Davis School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California.

I also have completed a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and a sub-concentration in Military Veterans and Family Studies, which was also earned at the University of Southern California.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Hawaii and California.

How do I prepare for a session?

You must make your session a priority.

This is not the time to scroll social media or complete your shopping list.

This time is for you. Finding a quiet, comfortable space to concentrate is the best thing you can do to prepare for your session.

What brand of tissue do you use?

The only way to go is Puffs Kleenex.

Dogs or cats?

Both. On occasion, my Maltese officemate, Commodore Hei Hei, may pop in a session or two. But I totally understand if you are a cat-only person and want your sessions to be dog free.

What kind of self-care do you practice?
I love iced coffee. One of my simple pleasures in life is filling a clear glass with ice, followed by coffee. The magic happens when I pour oat milk into the coffee and watch for the swirl as the two mix together. This simple practice gives me a moment of mindfulness.
What do you do in your free time?

When not picking up after kids or my husband, I enjoy sunrise hikes and camping trips with my family.

I love to be on the water and often am found on my SUP in the San Diego Bay.

What is the most interesting place you've been?

This is a tough one. Living in the Middle East offers ample travel opportunities. I lived in Bahrain for nearly three years, so I had lots of time to travel and explore.

The most interesting trip I’ve taken is a coin toss between exploring the inside of the pyramids in Cairo and trekking across the Serengeti.

Both are equally mesmerizing, and I must look at photos to remind myself I was there. Travel feeds my soul.
